Apparently Amazon is trying to downgrade books it considers to be "adult" from its rankings. These include such dangerous material as "Lady Chatterley’s Lover", "The Well of Loneliness" and "Fanny Hill". Twitter is following this under #amazonfail, in case any of you are so inclined to check.

There is a more detailed explanation on a number of blogs including Feminist SF and Edward Champion’s Reluctant Habits. I note with alarm that Amazon executives do not consider "Mein Kampf" to be worth their attentions… I am betrayed by idiots in suits.

So, my on-line book orders will now be via alternative suppliers, and in case anyone was considering checking my Amazon Wishlist in the near future, feel free – but would please buy the products elsewhere, at least until they sort this out!

Thank you for reading.

Go on then, it's your turn
